Dan Wetzel - the tip of the twig

My comment is about Dan's chickens*&t comment in his column on Yahoo preceding the OU-Texas Tech football game ... where he goes out of his way to take a dig at Barry Switzer, reaching back 30 years to try and claim "boast status" on one of Switzer's favorite sayings (which wittily states the goal to go out and dominate the other team through talent and execution) "hang half-a-hundred on 'em".

Switzer was among a literal handful of the greatest coaches ever (but who, ironically, can't definitively be called even the best OU coach because of Bud Wilkerson's brilliant career there, too), and hasn't been a college coach for over twenty years!, but Nancy-boy can't resist to take a long distance snip at him. Tip to Dan - Switzer always spoke with the flowing lyrical patois of youth (which is one reason he was the greatest college recruiter of talent ever), i.e. "hang half a hundred on 'em" - which is a lyrical downhome expression for superb execution of one's gameplan; "you gotta refill your water bucket" - find and nurture your passion; "he got a long distance call in the third quarter" - he got his bell rung on that terrific hit; etc.

Question - is there anyone who will ever remember the name Dan Wetzel even two years after he retires, much less twenty years?

Hey Dan! - your bias is showing ... and, sister, no one's interested.
